The APRN works with a collaborative physician who monitors practice. Effectively uses the nursing process to make practice decisions. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care. Determining the effectiveness of care plans for documentation of patient outcomes and modifying the plan as necessary to achieve medical and health goals; communicating findings and plan of care to patient, the caregiver or family, and the primary medical team. Advance Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) is distinguished by autonomy of practice. APRNs exercise a high degree of independent judgment, initiating care plans, and treatment regimens. Practice is characterized by increased complexity of clinical decision making and managing organizations and the environment
