Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking a Fellowship trained, Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurosurgeon to join our Regional Medical Center located in Boise, Idaho.
Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary neurological services, and is the only Regional Level II Trauma Center and TSE State designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute promotes collaboration with a team of neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, vascular neurologists, neurologists, neuropathologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, physiatrists, oncologists, and neuro-otolaryngologists.
Join our well-established interventional neuroradiology service that includes biplane angiography, MRI MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and interventional stroke and aneurysm procedures. Work in conjunction with medical and radiation oncologists and the area's only Novalis Stereotactic Radiosurgery suite - first in the PNW to provide Gamma Tile neoplasm surgical treatment.
Support for the practice is bolstered by a full complement of specialists including hospitalists and intensivists. In early 2023, Neurosciences will be supported by a new, dedicated Neuro and Trauma Intensive Care Unit that will include 18 Neuro/Trauma ICU beds, 17 Neuro step-down beds and the addition of Fellowship trained Neuro Intensivists.
The ideal physician will have completed an ACGME accredited residency in neurological surgery, with additional subspecialty fellowship in endovascular work and is willing to practice in a non-academic setting requiring excellent clinical skills and comfort with general elective as well as acute neurosurgery, including acute trauma/stroke surgery and endovascular care.
The opportunity requires Idaho licensure and granting of privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and other system hospitals as needed. Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) is the regional leader in telemedicine innovation and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to integrate the use of telemedicine into their practice to reach and better serve outlying communities.
The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional work week plus call and hospital responsibilities that may include evenings and weekends; outpatient clinics (ID/OR); and call responsibilities. Call is shared equally with other members of the neurosurgery department.
Requirements for this opportunity include:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency training program in neurological surgery
Board certification in Neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment
Successful completion of an Endovascular Fellowship program
Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC- Boise, SAMC-Nampa, and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed, valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
