Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, a subsidiary of Foundation Health Partners, is actively recruiting a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Palliative Care team. Tackle new challenges as you sort through complex healthcare and provide a full range of patient services to bring comfort and dignity to those suffering from a serious illness.
Join a well-established program that provides consultative palliative care services at the hospital, emergency department, and medical-surgical units. As a highly valued position and a vital part of a patient's care team, you will be called where you're needed most. The NP in this position manages the program in collaboration with an RN Director and can expect to partner with a Social Worker. Additionally, this position works in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary hospitalist team to sort through a serious illness or health problem, discuss treatment choices, and foster decision-making. As part of a rural health system, you will have the opportunity to independently manage aspects of care that might not be possible in larger settings, allowing you to round out your skills and expand your breadth of experience.
Schedule:40 hours per week, flexible scheduling M-F with five, 8-hour shifts or four, 10-hour shifts per week. No on-call requirement.
Patients: Currently focused on inpatient adult medicine but with proper certifications, can expand to pediatric.
Team: Your immediate partners are the RN Director and MSW. This position is highly supported by a multidisciplinary Hospitalist team who share the same commitment to quality patient care.

Must possess knowledge of clinical care and patient treatment as normally obtained through the completion of Master's degree in nursing.
Must be approved to practice as an Adult NP (ANP), Family NP (FNP), or Geriatric NP (GNP), by the State Board of Nursing by proof of license/certification.
Requires current RN license in state of practice. Must be certified to practice by the State Board of Nursing within a particular population as a nurse practitioner. Requires personal DEA license or must have prescribing and dispensing authority granted by the state board of nursing. Depending on business need/area of focus, this position may require graduation from an ACNM accredited nurse-midwifery education program, as well as a current NRP certification.
DNP or PhD preferred. Current BLS certification preferred. Previous relevant experience preferred.
