The VA Cheyenne Health Care System is recruiting for a staff Dentist, Dental Service. The Dentist reports to the Chief of Dental Service. The general practice Dentist serves as a practicing Dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventative measures. A staff general dentist should be proficient in all phases of dentistry including restorative, endodontic, removable and fixed prosthodontic, surgical, implant restoration (possible placement) and routine periodontal dentistry. The dentist is expected to interact with other hospital staff, respond to consults, provide emergency care and provide instruction and guidance to dental staff. In addition, basic dental laboratory procedures such as pouring models, fabricating custom trays and forming matrices for temporary fabrication are necessary skills. Functions include: Clinical: 95% clinical and includes examination, diagnosis, treatment effectiveness, effectiveness in emergencies, patient management, consultations, referrals, specialty skills, laboratory competence and record keeping. Administrative: 5% minor administrative duties include attendance and participation in required meetings and committees including MEC and IDTT and staff supervision when acting as chief. Basic front office skills such as filing and telephone skills are also required. Other duties as assigned. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
