The Overton Brooks VAMC has 5 sites of care across Northern Louisiana, Eastern Texas, and Southern Arkansas. The Assistant Chief assists the Chief in ensuring excellent care is provided, that quality improvement and performance metrics are met, and that professional and administrative tasks are completed. The Assistant Chief serves as a consultant and advisor to subordinates, peers and administrators and provides day to day reporting to the Chief. The Assistant Chief supervises the delivery of virtual care in the division. The Assistant Chief spends 20% of time delivering primary care in the outpatient clinic.
