Our Ambulance team is looking for full time Community Care Paramedics to join the team in this brand new Banner Health program! In this position you will be providing home care and post-discharge care to patients via scheduled appointments. You may also assist in 911 calls and with the Greely Fire Community Action Collaborative.
This full-time positions will either work Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday or Thursday-Sunday and every other Wednesday, all 12hr shifts. Our team works 12 hour shifts. POSITION SUMMARY This position functions independently and as a member of a healthcare team to provide an expanded role of paramedicine providing health services including medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured with the goal of reducing morbidity and mortality where access to physicians or clinics may be difficult. This is a community needs servicing position that can provide in place healthcare through collaboration among local stakeholders and physicians. providing assessment and care to patients with chronic medical and behavioral problems. Identifies patient's needs and assists in connecting patients with available community and medical resources.
CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Provides primary care and/or advanced life support, including medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured with the goal of reducing morbidity
2. Supports existing health services; provides integrated health services in partnership with other health professionals; extends access to health services delivery in under-served and general populations.
3. Identifies patient's needs and assists in connecting patients with available community and medical resources.
4. Collaborates with other health team members to provide continuity of care.
5. Communicates effectively while working with internal and external customers including hospitals, EMS, and police and fire departments.
6. Completes annual education requirements as outlined in the annual education requirements document.
7. Performs all physical requirements of the job in confined spaces, during potentially adverse environmental conditions.
8. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Must possess a current, valid Paramedic certification or license in the state of hire. Current Certifications required upon hire include: American Heart Association ACLS, PALS and BLS. Within one year of hire must have International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) Community Paramedic Certification, NRP, and ABLS.
Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical operations as normally demonstrated through 1-2 years of experience with relevant to patient population. Must have the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and families. Knowledge of the requirements of applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies. Excellent human relations and communication skills. May require possession of a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Three years of ALS Paramedic Level experience. Experience with community paramedic programs and scope of practice. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
