Position Description: This position supports the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI) by managing, analyzing and preparing data; coordinating organization-wide information resources to provide reports and information to the organization and customers. Manages the flow of data into and out of the Quality Data systems in support of Performance Improvement efforts by the hospital, medical staff, multidisciplinary teams and committees. Ability to prioritize projects based on importance, resources available and required timeframes. Oversees the Policy process and assists customers with policy needs. Supports safety and quality meetings as needed. Works under the direction of the DCQI to ensure assignments are completed according to timeframes and that quality expectations are met. Ensures confidentiality with patient and physician information and demonstrates understanding of HIPPA.
Department Specific Duties: Coordinates the timely collection of performance improvement data, develops excel spreadsheets, dashboards, graphs etc., to present data for various organization-wide customers. Supports Quality and Safety meetings such as Quality Council, Patient safety and Adhoc committees. Creates agendaâ��s with coordination of DCQI, takes and distributes minutes. Develops audit tools, aggregates data and develops dashboards in which to display data. Acts as a liaison to department heads with any data collection questions or audit tools. Collects retrospective data for patient safety metrics. Back up for the DCQI in reviewing patient safety events for immediate action. Keeps the binders for TJC and Licensing surveys up to date. Assists DCQI with PowerPoint presentations for Survey. Assists DCQI with fielding patient complaints. Abstracts core measures (CMS and TJC required metrics for inclusion in the IQR and OQR programs): Sepsis, PC Mothers, OP AMI, STK, and Throughput. Assists the Infection Preventionist with data collection as needed. Assist with various administrative duties such as mail, sending letters, ordering supplies, answering phone calls. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Strong analytical skills with ability to apply technical knowledge to business situations.
Experience with Microsoft software Programs: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Demonstrates ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Previous experience in healthcare related position.
Experience with Cerner or similar electronic healthcare record.
