This position is located at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, Spokane, WA. The incumbent serves as a Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Primary Care (Float) and provides comprehensive healthcare to patients. In addition to clinical practice, the NP role includes education, research, and consultation as needed. The NP functions within a scope of practice commensurate with training, demonstrated expertise and licensure. The NP executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care for patients receiving medical care. The NP complies with Mann-Grandstaff V AMC Clinical Practice Guidelines and Clinical Reminder Alerts within NP scope of assignment. The NP demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving patient care through collaborative strategies with others. The NP functions as a provider and oversees care provided to patients in the Mann-Grandstaff VAMC and possibly for patients at the CDA CBOC. This includes identifying the patient's medical and psychological problems, defining the management of these problems, and determining the need for consultation. As needed, the NP consults/collaborates with healthcare clinicians and other team members from VISN 20 as well as community providers involved in the delivery and coordination of care. The NP attends medical staff meetings, team meetings, and provides assistance in the implementation and application of all programs as required. The NP provides leadership in improving patient care, maintaining standards of care, and teaching personnel in a variety of settings. The needs of patients are identified and appropriate referrals are initiated for other programs.
