This is an open continuous announcement. Applicants will be accepted on a ongoing basis and considered as vacancies become available. Applicants will remain on file until September 30, 2021. First certificate will be sent to hiring manager on February 12, 2021. The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center will be staffing across the Medical Center and you will be assigned to either Geriatric Extended Care, Mental Health, Primary Care, and Specialty Care. Major Duties will include: Assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long term care or outpatient setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse; Communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team and other personnel; Recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance. For example, recognizing need for basic life support, controlling bleeding and assisting with behavior crisis, etc. Work Schedule: Will vary depending upon placement, shift, schedule, and patient care needs Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
